Can I acomplish these things in the next two years?
I am 25 years old. I have been thinking of the future and here are some of the things I would like to do.
-Get buff
-Travel to Japan
-Buy a house
-Get married
-Honeymoon in Disney
-Start law school
-Have a baby!

What do you think? Will I be able to afford doing some of most of there things with a 1,600 paycheck? I am currently paying my car, student loan, visa, and phone.

................................
There are ways to do all those things on a budget. I think you should look for ways to do all of those things without spending a lot. You can do it. You just need to know where to look.

If you wanna get buff, start going to the gym a couple times a week. Find the time to do this, it's worth the effort.

Japan is expensive, but you can find good deals online. Also, you should be willing to spend the night in a hostel. They're cheap and you meet different people from all over the world. It may not be the best thing for a married couple but you do save A LOT of money. These places usually cost less than US $80/night and are clean.

If you're not look for a huge house, you can save $30 000 and try to look for a house that costs that much or less. Also, you should look into less expensive ways to live. There are ways to live simply.

For the honeymoon, you may wanna check out this page: [ http://www.ehow.com/how_2063283_plan-disney-world-honeymoon.html

Law school. Find out where you would like to attend law school and find a way to save the money for it.

As for the baby, those are expensive but you can still make things happen. Just don't over-do it on the clothes and toys because they outgrow it anyway. Check out this site: [ http://www.babycenter.com/babyCostCalculator.htm ]

Know how to save, Live below your means. Create a budget...

Hopefully this helped.

Starting law school would defer your student loans (you don't have to pay them as long as you are enrolled in college). Having a baby is pretty expensive, but if you breast feed and use cloth diapers they are basically "free" until they start eating food at about 6 months!

Cross out tha that last one and you will be set. Do the fun stuff, then start school. But you can't get prego. Get prego and you will not be able to stay in shape and law school will definately not work with you.

thattsss going to be difficult...but i bet if u crazy multitask u could do it...

i think you should prioritize and be willling to let things go. getting buff and starting law school should definitely fit in two years, but the others are going to be expensive. a wife, kid, house not, car note, loan, visa, phone bill, tuition for your school and your child's, and travel costs are a lot to handle. plus some of those might be doubled by your wife (i.e. two phone bills, etc.)

i would suggest paying off the loan and firmly planting yourself in law school before getting married. the majority of your list was tied to being married anyway, so with a wife, the rest (baby, honeymoon) will come quickly. put off marriage until you have finished at least one year of law school. that way even if you have a baby immediately, he won't be school age until you are mostly done with your own education. and with your new education will come a higher paycheck. meaning you get to do more of what you want to do.

getting married is the hardest part

New Mommy!
you could achieve some of these things, but some I would advise taking off the list.

You should never put "get married" on a list, because if you feel like not meeting this goal in your time frame is a failure, you may just settle for the first loser who asks you....and then you would be stuck with your last "check-off" on your list.

I have found, in my life, that you achieve the greatest things without really trying.

I met my husband when I wasn't looking....

We got pregnant without really trying....

If it is meant to be for you, it will happen, with or without a checklist

this is to difficult to answer. If the person you are marrying is dong better than you finanically then it is possible. You can get married if you have a man and honeymoon in Disney this could all happen within a year. You can workout the whole year before the wedding and get buff. You can also start school right away and visit Japan the second summer and and then get pregnant I don't think have the baby but get pregnant would work. If you get married right away then maybe :o)))) Good luck those all sound great!!! Oh, and buying a house depends on your finances!!

becky m
if you really want to, i suggest you stop asking others on the internet and just do it

girlypearl
Well getting buff is somthing you can do for free, starting school is cheap (at first) its AFTER school that you have to worry about, cuz thats when all the student loans need to be paid off. buying a house, a baby, marriage....ehhh those are REALLY expensive things, I'd wait for those if i were you. Japan might be in reach if you can travel cheap. GOOD LUCK

Amey S
Getting buff, married, and a baby can easily be done with your current pay.

Going to Japan shouldn't even be considered before you have enough saved.

It looks like you need to put these tasks in order of priority. If you really want to buy a house, then throw Japan away and vice versa.

Vincent
these are all reasonable goals...just stick with them and they will happen.

Gabrio
prioritize, put them in logical order and don't force any relationship.
1-start law school
2-travel to japan
3-get buff?
4-save money
5-marriage
6-house
7- baby/ during pregnancy you wont receive $

Dont get more DEBTS!

if you really want to do it it will all happen if you work really hard

I would not have a baby and go to law school at the same time.

Babies change you. I gave up med school to get married and be a stay at home mom who homeschools. While I do wish sometimes I had gone ahead to med school, I could not imagine not raising my children myself. The thought of dumping them in daycare or having a nanny from the time they were infants sounds so painful, I can't imagine how people do that to their kids.

maybe in ten years?

Buttercup B
Why would you want to commit to all of those things...especially going to law school and having a baby at the same time. Raising a child is a load on its own but you want to commit going to school full time for the next how many years...good luck toots.

Marcy
getting married is the hardest part on the list! lol
