Both signatures are required. The shop should have a bank stamp. |

no
the insurance company has made sure that you will be taking the business to the repair shop they approved.
hopefully, that means that if the work is done incorrectly, they will get the body shop to redo it. |

THE body shop will also have to sign. |
|

Nope it will have to have both signatures |

No, it requires the endorsement of both parties, you and the body shop. |

Since it was made out to you and the shop, both of you would need to sign the check before it can be cashed anywhere. |

No, the check is made out to both you and the body shop and the bank will require both signatures. A body shop shouldn't sign off on a check unless they did the repairs . The purpose of the check is to pay them for their work. If you don't have a lien holder on your vehicle, ask the insurance company to make the check out directly to you. Even then, the funds are not usually available for several days and they won't "cash" that check unless you already have the available funds to cover it. |

Both parties have to sign the check. |

Why would you want to cheat the bodyshop out of their money? |

Yes-but they might have to stamp it or sign the back as deposit to the account of or cash check to- |

Absolutely. Make sure you go to YOUR bank and if they give you any trouble just be a little loud, make a small scene about how you've been such a loyal customer, there's so many internet options around, "insert bank here" never gave you trouble, etc. |

The body shop needs to stamp it too. Your bank may not notice but if they go ahead and cash it, it will be returned by the bank it is drewn on. |

i believe you are to sign it then turn it over to the shop |
|

you can pick my name......
 |
Yes !But someone who works at th ebody shop with a business card stating his name and the bodyshops name on it. Thats how we handled it when I worked at a bank. |

only at your own bank... where the account is held
that way the bank will know it holds your account and there is money to cover the balance till the check clears from the payers account. No other bank will cash it for you... |

it really is up to the service managers discretion. they can choose to override it if you have a good relationship with the bank, i.e. high balances, or bankers/tellers know you. If it's a smaller amount, it would probably be more likely that they override it. |

no. you and the body shop jointly owns the check. you can endorse it though so the body shop can negotiate the check by depositing it to its account. the body shop then pays you for your share. |

depends on the body shop |

uhh i dont hink you can cash business checks, you can only deposit and withdraw. this keeps one person in the business from taking all the money. but if it has your name on it, i think you may be able to... idk go to the bank and see |
|

♥ Im just saying..
|
as long as your name is on it also on the pay to line then you can, but you can't cash a check that has only the business name on it, you will only be able to deposit.. |
|

Dan Druff
|
Yes you can. If you have a note from your mother. |
|

Jay J
 |
Yes, because it is essentially made out to you in care of the body shop. Just as mail addressed to you but with the body shops name and address also is yours. |
