Can I cash a money order????
I have a money order I made out to the vital records. But it was returned to me because I didn't provide all the information they are requesting. Since the money order already has the name I made it out to, can I still cash it??? Also It has my signature, because I signed it.. Please help

Yes you can.

On the money order after the payee write "or" and then your name. Then sign the back.

Or the other way to do it is to go back to your bank, write "not used for intended purposes" on the back of the MO and sign it and deposit it into your account.

Yes you can cash a money order. Its like a check. It has to be filled out by the person that gave it to you. You sign the back and either deposit it or cash it against your account at the bank.

Not sure. Take it back to wherever you bought it.
The post office lost a money order for $200 that I had sent [and of course, Paid for] and it cost me to have it traced and took me about 6 weeks to get my money back. Not right!!

Aleks
if you have the stub you can cash it without a problem

You will have to take it back to the place where you bought it from and they will be able to tell you about getting your money back.

What you need to do is return it to the bank that you purchased it from. They will then refund you the money.
If you didn't buy it from the bank, but from a market, then you will need to call the phone number on the money order to let them know what happened.
I had to return a money order to the bank for a refund, and they were pretty nice about it.
Good luck to you.

If you didn't provide all the info they were requesting, I would say you probably wouldn't. I had to pay a late water bill and when I went to the bank, I just had the teller put, "water bill" on it and I took it to the office, and they said, "We can't accept it, it doesn't say the name of the water company." dumb.

Hey, i think you may be able to take it to a Western Union and they can cash it but i'm not 100% sure because you have the name of the person/place you were making it out to on there also. But i mean if you have your signature on it, they should be able to cash it if you show a valid ID like a license. I'm not 100% on this subject though.

Also check your bank. They should be able to cash it.

Yes. Some places won't let you, but if you ask first, the bank or a supermarket should be able to cash it if you cross out the name, inital it and write it out to a new person.
