Can I get a loan for £2000.00 if I am unemployed? This is in the uk!?
Please advise!

Bill M
I don't know which is worse, the unemployed guy asking for a loan or "Mr. Davis" saying he will lend the money if you give him all your personal info.

STEVE S
Before you even think about taking out a loan, whether you are employed or not, you have to think about how you are going to pay it back and what effect the repayments are going to have on your finances.

How much money are you saving at the moment? If the answer is "nothing" then that means you are spending the whole of your income. If this is the case, where are the repayments coming from.

No reputable lender will lend you £2000 unless you can show them how you are going to repay it. If you get the money from a loan-shark or similar lender, you will be in debt for the rest of your life AND still have no money. Any money you earn will go to paying their interest.

The banks are being right tight arses at the moment, trying to get anything out of them is a mission in itself. And being unemployed certainly wont go in your favour!

How would you expect to pay it back?

Lily B Talus
very unlikely

from a dodgy loan shark? possibly

from any kind of bank? very doubtful. you have no way of paying it back.

No chance from an reputable lender.

andy
The short answer no, not with out paying high interest with a short payoff time frame.

no you wouldnt get one. not even from a company like provident because you have to be working

keirah™Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
you wont be getting an unsecured loan but if you have a property then you might be able to get a secured loan depending on the equity you have got

Thomas
Why would you even think of trying for a loan when you have no income?

Which are you dumb? Or dumber? This is such a bad idea there are not words to explain it.

Do you really want to owe money to a guy who is going to show up at your door, beat the heck out of you if you can't pay and the next time beat you once more and rape your wife or daughter to try and force you to get the money somewhere - anywhere.

☼AstrologerJuliAnne☼
Highly doubt it. You would have to show how you would pay it back? If you have some investments that are paying you monthly, I suppose you could use that as income, but, if not, you are SOL.

Johnny
How are you going to pay it back?

Don't do it.

pirate_princess
Probably from some unscrupulous door step lender, charging upwards of 51% interest.

It's because of lending to the unemployed and others that cannot begin to pay the debt back that we are in the current financial state we find ourselves in.
