I was a bank teller for years and yes, they can pretty much access that info if they want to. They can get into BIG trouble though if it's foul play. |

Absolutely. You don't even need to work in a branch as a teller or CSR to view that information. Most bank employees can access your account information by name, phone number, account number, or any other information you have provided to the bank. |

Yes, as it is required by all banks to open any type of banking account or loan. Some banks don't let the tellers have access to it, and they would go by the last four digits, or they would go to the head teller/manager to obtain document verification. Social Security numbers have just about become your name, as you can't do anything without it. |

Without a doubt bank employees have access to all you can thing of that has to do with your account for the most part. SS# is just the start, account numbers, address, card #'s, you name it. However, if they do try anything on your account they have tracking for that. Any employee at a bank can find out who did any deposit or w/drawal you did while at a branch. This being said almost every bank employee is not going to try and doing anything with that info, it's just not worth it to them, and it's to easy to be traced. If you are worried about fraud and identity theft then you have some options. Check one of your Credit Reports every 4 months for any fraudulent activity. Shred everything you ca, and have your mail come to a secure location because most ID theft comes from people stealing your mail and going through your trash. I do work at a bank, and I always find it funny when people try and hide their pin #'s from me, not because I want to know them, but because all their info is right there in front of me anyways. But all that being said, a bank employee could just search for random names and then have SSN there in front of them, but very very very very few would ever do that because again, banks do track that stuff to monitor there employees. |

of course they have access. all accounts have either a social security number or tax id number. they see hundreds of such numbers a day. if you want a bank account, you have to have one of these. |

Yes they can. However banks have already put measures to control it. As all access of employee's on a client account is being monitored. So, if unfortunately, somebody else saw that your account is being accessed, by higher management or the audit then they will have appropriate sanctions. |

Yes, there are hundreds of people who have access to your social security number. Most banks have switched to pseudo numbers for accounts as well as hospitals but they still exist in your old files, and to issue you out your 1099's. You tax accountant has it, your credit card issuers, your county clerk, your employer and anyone who works in personal, they all have access to it. |
