Can a retired person be approved for a bank loan?
Could someone with perfect credit be approved for a 20k loan if retired? (To be repaid over 4 years). Receiving good pension and house almost paid off.
My Father in Law took his first ever mortgage when he was 66 about 8 months after he retired.
At age 72 he applied for his first ever bank loan and was approved.
He receives a good income from his pension and has always maintained his accounts well.

Yes - the pension can be considered income and the credit history is important.

You have equity in your home so you shouldn't have any problems.
Becky
You will have no problem if your credit is good. You will apply just like everyone else. Your pension is your income & your house is among your debt.
Good luck.

Yes, probably, depends how old you are, the older you are the more of a risk you are to the bank so you have a higher chance of being refused, but yes it is possible you can be approved
