anyone can get a debit card. All it basically is is a giftcard that you can use at almost anywhere you can use a credit card. |

No. You are too young and if there was a problem they could not legally collect the debt from you.
You might be able to have your dad help you get a prepaid VISA card using your bank account money. Those cards have a dollar value that you can spend down just like a credit card. When it is empty you need to refill it to be able to spend again. That keeps you from crazy spending sprees. Since it spends just like cash (store gets paid right away) they don't worry about your sticking them for invalid purchases. You still need to keep in mind that when you buy things with these cards your money is still going away - so you still need to stop and think before you spend with them. |

18, because minors cannot legally sign contracts.
It might be possible for your parents to request an additional card for you based on their credit / debit card. |

No, you can't get one, you are too young. Your parents can get you a credit card and then put money on it for you or something like that, but your parents will have to be the ones to do it. |

When I was 13, I got one, but it was linked to a checking account. I don't know of any linked to a savings, but that doesn't make me right. My mom had to sign off on the card, but that was all. |

I know that you can, but it has to be in your parent/guardians name [because you don't have enough credit when you're 13]. Like, it'll be in your name, but if your dad or whoever thinks that you're over-using it, they can put a stop on it. |

Hi! I'm also 13, and I doubt there would be any problem with you getting a debit card. I'm saying this because my friend has one, but it may be a little different with you because your bank may have different policies, I'm not sure. I don't see why not though! |

Yes, if you have money in the bank already, you should be able to get a savings account. You will need to go to the bank and transfer some of your money into a checking account. Because you are a minor, you will need to take your parent with you to sign all the proper paperwork. |

You have to have a checking account. Usually it has to have a parents name on it too, and you can't make withdraw;s without their approval. So I am guessing no to the debit, because it works like a credit card. Maybe there is something tho that has some kind of limit as to what you can take out. You will have to ask your bank :) |

I got one when i was 13, but it had to have my mom's name on it. that isn't a problem since all you have to do is enter your pin and not sign anything. go in and talk to someone at the bank and tell them what you want to do and they will be glad to help you. |

Check with your bank to see if you can get one. You usually can get a ATM card with a savings account, but you need a checking account for a debit card.
Hope this helps! |

No you can't, you have to be 18 to have a checking account or a debit card. Some credit card companies allow some kind of "prepaid" credit card, or a low credit limit card, but if you're 13 you don't need anything like a debit card, cash should be fine for you I don't think you'll be buying things where you need a card. |

yes you can, but you might need to open up a checking account.
good luck |

No. you cannot get a debit card without a checking account and you must be 18 to have a checking account. Why on earth do you need a debit card? |

13 is much too young for one, I dont think we teenagers should have the responsibility of so much money in our hands. |
