I am a single mom of 5 children, lost a job 3 months ago, have a part time job and trying to work "online". It is slow and this is a small town, so good paying jobs are hard to find. Geez everyone be nice! I'd like to think we can be civil, I mean I'm sure this person has exhausted all other options and is therefore trying anything she can including asking for kindness from someone online, albeit a slim chance!
That being said I seriously doubt anyone will be willing to lend you the money. If its really bad and you can't find any work in your town consider moving. You might be in your current situation because the job market for your town is so small, and therefore incomes will be proportionally smaller than larger metropolitan centers.
You've probably been avoiding the thought of moving, but sometimes a fresh start is what you need. If it helps, file for bankruptcy but do so only as a last resort. In almost every one of these personal finance questions someone advocates bankruptcy. I know those kinds of people, they don't pay their bills and end up filing for bankruptcy over and over till they die, leaving a slew of creditors in their wake. Pathetic way to live, always looking over your shoulder for people who you owe money to!
My advice, move to a bigger city, go where the jobs are and start over. Bigger cities offer more services, more opportunities and in general a better quality of life for your kids (although the change might be difficult at first, its a risk worth taking for financial security I think).
Also just wanna say I think its amazing that you can raise 5 kids and also work. Its always the people who don't deserve it that get hit hardest in times of recession. If the 'online' thing doesn't work out (and I don't think it will if you have to use " " to describe it) go back to regular jobs. I'm sure you have, or can develop, some skills that can get you a good job.

You are not going to find a legit lender willing to give you $10K. You will be bombarded with scam offers here. Don't pay anything up front and be careful giving out personal info.
You should contact social services. With 5 children and only a part time job, you should qualify for some assistance. |

if a creditor wouldnt loan you that much what makes you think i will? i have kids too im a single mom and every penny is for my kids. why dont you do the same. work for your money your kids deserve it. you have 5 kids. wow...... how sad. better start looking for jobs or go to school. |

If you are able to obtain a loan, most likely your interest rates are going to be sky high. Have you talked to your creditors about your situation yet? Maybe they can work with you and put some payments at the end of the loan, instead of right now when you are trying to make ends meet. If you haven't, that should be your first action step. Are there items that you don't absolutely NEED, and can possibly sell to pay down your debt on needed items like your car? Or, can you get out of the car loan and find a less expensive car to drive? I would try these courses of action before going for a loan, because most likely the interest rates will smack of usury. Also, you may check out Credit Counselors,(which is a non-profit organization so they're not trying to sell you anything).
