Yes. Ask your HR person. They will make you pay it back through your paychecks or you will pay taxes plus a 10% penalty for early withdrawl. And not now- later- when you don't have the money. |

401k Loan Limits
In most cases, an employee can borrow up to fifty-percent of their vested account balance up to a maximum of $50,000. If the employee has taken out a 401k loan in the previous twelve months, they will only be able to borrow fifty-percent of their vested account balance up to $50,000, less the outstanding balance on the previous loan. The 401k loan must be paid back over the subsequent five years with the exception of home purchases, which are eligible for a longer time horizon. |

you can borrow up to half of what your 401k is worth. Check with human resources, they'll explain it to you. Then you can have the pay back payments taken out of your paycheck. |

Yes, you have to check with the account holder about the terms. I did it when I purchased my home and the interest rate was really low and they took the payments right out of my check which was nice! |

which investment is ur 401k through? I used putnam investments and i was able to borrow money from mine and did not have to cash it out but had to pay it back.. im not sure if everyone is the same so u might have to ask the invester.hope i was some help. |

Depends on the fund and the administration of the fund. Some funds allow limited borrowing for first time home buyers, etc. You MUST contact your fund administrator for that information. Not us. |
