kerry | Can i sell house to son and live in it? |
would like to sell house to son , to have better lifestyle. would still like to live in house |

It would be up to your son if he wanted you to live there or not, so it would be best to speak to him about it. There's legally no reason why you couldn't live there if you both agree. |

Hello, I am mortgage advisor and my answer to this would be, firstly why would you like to sell the house to him ? secondly there are other options to resolve situation like this as after you sell your house to your son, he becomes the legal owner and title deeds would be on his name then you would have to trust him and keep your fingers cross. In case you would like to ask me more about this situation please drop me an e-mail at info@mortgagereliefonline.co .uk and I will be happy to discuss some good alternatives with you so you can have financial control over the property as well.
Thanks |

aslong as it is ok with him |

Two possibilities:
1) Your son gives you permission to stay there. Heowns the house and can throw you out at any time.
2) You sell the house with the provisio that you have a right to live there for the rest of your life. Depending on how old you are, the house would be worth considerably less. |

Yes you could do that. I would suggest though that you make an agreement, that a clause in the sale would allow you to live in the house.
Speak to your solicitor when you are selling the house to him to see if they can help you with it. |

Why dont you take some loan from him and use that money for business if you fell he has money and can buy the house. |
|

angie
 |
Yes of course.
You would need to draw up some kind of legal agreement to avoid disagreements or problems in the future but if you are both happy with this arrangement then it should not be to hard to arrange.
Be aware that if you sell the house to your Son at a greatly reduced value to its true Market Value he may be liable for inheritence duty should anything happen to you.
You need to get advise from a solicitor/lawyer and follow the correct procedures. |

Sure. Why not. Just make sure you sign a 99 year lease for $1 or you could be out on the sidewalk tomorrow. |

There's no reason why not legally. But I should have a contract drawn up between you and your son to that effect. You may get on well at the moment, but things change in family relationships and you want to be secure. |
|

Sure you can stay if the he allows. |

I would say that is up to the new owner of the house (your son) whether you could live there or not. |
