I have just opened a new Paypal account, and added my Bank account to it, It currently says my account is Unverified at the moment until they pay 2 small deposits into my account.
but the thing is I won an Item last night on Ebay, and I thought "oh, I can use my new paypal account for this" but for some unknown reason it wants a Credit/debit card to pay for the item I just won.
any ideas why ???

The two small amounts are usually deposited quite quickly. See if they have been deposited into your bank account and verify your account that should free up your account to be used. Otherwise, they may require a credit card in order to pay for the item as you have an unverified account. GOOD LUCK |

as far as i no they pay 2 small payments to you 10p and 1p lets say after that is done click on the unverified tab in paypal account and follow the steps doesnt take long,but being a ebayer myself i think you should let the person no whats going on with your paypal most ppl are kind they mite just ask for other payment. |

I would wait until they make the deposits to insure that the account is active and working. It sounds like you got ahead of yourself a bit when bidding and expecting to use paypal right away. As soon as they take care of business of their end you should be able to use the service. If you are worried about the item you won, contact the seller and let them know that they can expect payment in a day or two. It should work out for you with little difficulity. Like so many things it is a pain to get them up and running. Good luck. |

You haven't been confirmed yet. The deposits are for, like, 48 cents and another similar amount. And they come quick. You will receive an email asking how much the deposits were for. Then you can pay for your ebay item using paypal. |

i did that. they deposited two small amounts of money in my account and then i had to go back and confirm that amount to verify it was actually my bank account. i still had a unverified because the address on my debit card was different from my mailing address.
they use a debit card to pay for the item, like you would do if you used it at a store. check with the seller to see if you can pay another way. if not, you have to use your card. |

I think, but am not sure....that "you" may need to pay a small deposit into your PayPal account first to prove it is the correct details. I was a while ago, but I seem to remember paying in a couple of quid to authorise the account. |

there is nothing you can do so contact the seller explain i had the same problem when my paypal account reached the 500 limit and i had to become verified tell the seller this im sure they will be fine remember good comms |

They will still need a debit number so they know which account to take the money from everytime you use paypal. I dont think you have to register a credit card aswell. but to verify the account you might. Best thing to do is to go to paypals website and just read through their explanation.

you give them your debit card details and they will transfer the money immediately from your bank account to the seller of the item. The only other way to pay for items is to transfer funds via your bank account to paypal which can take up to 7 working days. You can remain unverified if you wish, but you will be limited to the amount of money you can pass through paypal a month - its about £500 |

cant rememb, been awile, but i recall they wanted some credit or checking to bill one dollar to verify or sumthin, but verfication is not needed to recieve money ... but to send money, there must be money tied to ur account ... if u won sumthing but paypal thinks u must pay for it, then u mite need to verify wit card or account to pay a zero fee ... but there should be alternative methods of payment at vendor on ebay |

its for secruity reasons. they just need to verify you are the card holder..most sellers have other ways you can pay for their stuff on ebay, contact the seller to explain things though as most like payment within 3 days or they give you negative feedback |
