absolutely NOT. These are known scams where as soon as you reply, you will be contacted and told you won a prize, and all you have to do is send several thousand dollars to pay the TAXes. Then when you send some money, they call you back and say, oh there was a mistake, you really won several million, you just need to send 25,000 for the Tax.
Believe it or not, some people fall for these SCAMS. Please don't be one of them. |

No way, they are trying to steal your identity. Just on a whim I answered one and they wanted me to send them all my info like name, address , bank account number, credit card number, I told them that I do not give that info out over the Internet. Now I just click the spam tab on them. |

Ok - here's a few questions to consider:
1 - Have you ever walked down the street, met a random stranger and thought "maybe I'll offer this person my life savings"?
2 - Have the government ever called you up one day and said "Hi there, we thought seeing as you've paid tax all your working life, we should give you some money back cash-in-hand, just to say thanks"?
3 - If you've ever played the lottery, and bought one ticket, were you 100% certain out of the billions sold, yours would win?
It's not very likely you answered yes to any of these (though if it has happened, I stand corrected). So why would it seem at all likely someone would contact you from overseas to offer you a prize, when you haven't even entered anything?! You think they just go through the phone book and pick out a name saying "he sounds nice"?!
In life, you have to be a little bit realistic. If it sounds too good to be true, it usuallly is. |

Usually you have to be a citizen of the country in which the lottery is taking place in order to win. I wouldn't trust it if I were you. |

NO NO and NO. My husband and I received a letter in the mail along with a check and it said I won something like 15M dollars. There was a check and everything. So we called our local bank and they said they have had those in the past and they are all scams. One lady actually managed to cash one of these and she was brought up on charges for it. I do not remember the exact details, but it did happen. If you got one of these, contact your local FBI or Police department to take the next step in stopping these scammers. Please do not believe anything they tell you. It is all a scam. |
