Pregnancy isn't a factor. As a pregnant woman, you are considered a protected class and no one can legally discriminate against you in the United States.
However, not having a job beyond six months is a factor. If your income is required, you may not get approved for the mortgage, unless you are in a professional field that has high demand. Often, nurses, teachers, etc., get special dismensation since employment for them is in such high demand. |

They can't discriminate against you for being a pregnant woman (see Equal Housing Lender) but they can insist that you have worked in your field for a certain number of years.
The 6th month contract is a lot more of a deterrant to a lender than the pregnancy. |

you wont be able to coz you need to have a permenent job which has past its pobation... you partner will if he works tho.
however, until you have a perm job, they wont take your income into consideration, which will decrease you lending power, just going on your partners income.
and credit has nothing to do with it... unless you have bad credit, then you are more that likely to be refused from some places.

Yes, your pregnancy is irrelevant in any decision regarding your ability to qualify for a loan. Your financial situation (only six months of income) is more relevant. Right now you have income and unless it is clearly spelled out as contract employee then just report your last year's income and current income. However, you need to budget the cost of mortgage, taxes, insurance, utilities, new purchases and maintenance to your new home within the time you may not be receiving income. Many first time homebuyers neglect this in their calculations of expenses.

i work for a title complany (the place that will insure your property) and i can tell you with 100% guarantee that it does not matter if you're pregnant, it all has to do with credit scores, income, debt, things of that nature...

It is rediculous that you would even think you wouldn't be able to. There is no box on the application that says "Are you pregnant?" Your spotty/unstable work history might hinder you though. |

of course you can get a morgage still, it doesn't matter if your pregnant, this wont affect the morgage, its wether you have the money and what income you and your partner has... |

being a first time buyer determines whether you get a first time buyer mortgage not whether your pregnant or starting a new job or something else. |
