Yes, most definately - its the whole point of a bank!
All banks will take cash, no matter which bank. Afterall, most businesses pay in cash on a daily basis. Personal accounts have less cash paid in now, as most people get paid electronically, but you can deposit cash without any problems, and this won't change for many years yet (when we become a cashless society).
There is no limits to how much you can put in, however anything over £10,000 in cash will be flagged, and you`ll be questioned about it. These are the new rules to help stop money laundering / drug money / proceeds of crime etc |

Yes they will. The only restriction some banks will have of accepting cash is when you want to deposit coinage. They will only accept 5 bags of coinage that is bagged correctly. ie 1p or 2p bagged in £1's etc. |

Yeah, totally. Just fill out the deposit slip and right the amount in the "cash" section. All banks take American money. :) |

All banks will happily take your cash . Most usually have machines to save queueing for a cashier .
As for limits , if someone tries to pay in a huge amount they would probably be asked to justify where it came from as obviously it could have been criminally obtained
This audit can also be asked for cheques and money transfers for the same reason , and the money could be frozen till you come up with a valid reason .
I had to do this when I sold my house and had to wait 3 months for the new one to be ready . |

Of course they will allow to put cash into your accounts as long as it is not fake money. They will allow to put as much cash as you have into your bank account, although if you are suddenly depositing a million dollars or something they might wonder where it came from |

Yes, you can, and the money goes into your account immediately (in the UK).
There is no limit on cash deposited but there may be a limit on coins deposited per day.

Yes you can deposit cash. No there is no limit on how much you can deposit, but banks (in the USA) are only insured up to $100000 per person. they'll let you put more than that (sometimes) but they won't guarantee it. |

Cash is fine. No bank would refuse to let you deposit cash into your account. Unless it was counterfeit, or foreign currency. |

Don't know where you are (guess UK cos you say cheque not check) - so yes, you can pay cash in - although questions will be asked if its a lot of cash - money laundering and all that kinda thing |
