Butterfly | Can you make a lot of money by selling stuff on Ebay? |
|

As an experienced seller on ebay, amazon, and all those other websites, I can tell you that your best shot is eBay.
Many believe that ebay rips you off, but they're only taking some of your profits. It's a fair trade in my opinion, but you need to know how to pick the right products to sell and how to design your auctions such that they look professional and catchy.
As time goes by and your feedback accumulates, you'll be in a much better position to make profits from your sales. The key to eBay is trust, and people trust you if you have good feedback.
There are plenty of good books I've found on amazon.com about how to sell on eBay and profit from it. eBay has their own magazine that can help you out as well.
While yahoo and amazon auctions cost much less, I can guarantee you that they will not sell for nearly the same price that eBay customers will offer.
Best of luck! Just take one day to read a book about eBay, and consider yourself ready to embark on some great profit potential |

Yes. How much you make depends on what you are selling - and to whom. But if you acquire too much and can't sell it, you end up in "the red." |

Depends on the stuff. You've got to know what to put on, how to photograph & describe it, best price to start it at, etc. I've been selling on ebay 3 years and just added an Ebay store. Items that sell best, basically might be described as "oddball popular." I deal in antique car paper . . . manuals, brochures, etc.
A few examples of what I mean:
'57 Chevy, popular car: But a '57 Chevy owners manual can be bought anywhere, so it probably won't bring much, if any, bid. However, an unusual promotional folder . . . for a special sales promotion during the year, etc., . . . could easily be bid thru the roof!
'61 Mercury, unpopular car: Unless you get really lucky, NOTHING for it is likely to bring much of a bid.
Get the idea?
Same with any category of product, collectible, whatever.
Not really as hard as it sounds. If I can do it, you can do it!
Best wishes. |

I bought a projector for 350 from a campus surplus and sold it for 560. I don't know how to do large scale operations. I don't know where people get the stuff to sell on ebay. |

I think it really depends on if you lucky or not. Since Ebay charges you you might end up loosing money. Amazon.com lets you sell stuff for free though, so you might have better luck there. |

You have to find the products that sell well and be aware of who you competition is on there there is no use selling tv's when alot of the clearence places do for a lot less.
Find something you are interested In that usually helps that way you have a lot of knowledge when customers ask questions. It takes alot of work on ebay knowing what sells what dosn't the time to photograph it and list it then follow up with emails for questions, posting and checking on payments you have to put in the time and the effort like a real job to make it work I wouldn't give up the day job until you know you can make a steady living off ebay.
Good Luck with it all! |

Depends if you have something of value. If you're selling used items, you can make spending money. If you have a new product that ppl want then you can earn a living selling on Ebay. Just depends what you want to sell. |

Depends what you're selling. Lots of people now sell on ebay so there is less demand for items. |
