yes you can- even with the same bank. |

You can have as many accounts as you like so long as you're not using them fraudulently. The only reason one of the banks wanted you to close the other account was so that THEY'D get all your business! |

as many as you like providing it's not for fraudulence purposes. |

absolutely, always best to have more than one account anyway, just in case something goes wrong with one of them |

Just open your new account with a different bank |

yes u can but make sure that you use both of them. I had an account with BOA and WaMu. BOA was my primary account for my daily bills, my direct deposit, etc.WaMu was just a second account that i just would deposit in to once a month for my emergency money. WaMu closed my account after like a year saying that i wasn't using my account enough (not making them any money)! |

Yes.
Sounds like a bank being unreasonable. I have my own account; a joint account for household bills; a building society current account (with only£5 in it) - purely as a carpet bagger!
Try Nationwide - been excellent!
Note, as an aside, that having a few accounts would not matter- but I understand that having "100s" could impact your credit rating as you become a higher risk of having multiple overdrafts amounting to a significant amount of debt. This is definitely true of credit cards |

Not a problem. If this bank doesn't want your money, there are lots of others that do. I have 3 accounts at one bank, and another online. Your other accounts are none of their business! |

If your bank won't allow you do to that, find another bank! There's no legal prohibition though some banks restrict the number of accounts for anti-fraud purposes. |

Of course you can. If your existing bank is not prepared to cooperate tell them to close your account and transfer to another bank. I would also write to their head office and make a very strong complaint about your branch. |

Yes you can have two accounts. Maybe the bankk is suspicious as to why you want two accounts
I would keep them both and just explain why you want them
If they still harass you maybe consider moving both accounts to a new bank |
|
