If you can do sales then you are set. If not, go to college and make sure you end up in the college of business or the college of engineering. |

Unionized construction trades pay very well and most require only a diploma or a ged. |

To answer your question yes. Of course advancement through education increases the odds of you being successful drastically. But there are some people that own their own businesses and are very successful without a college degree or high school diploma. The odds are really against you, but with hard work and determination, anything is possible. |

depends on what skills you have...my fiance brings home $900-$1200 a week with no GED....not that we're proud of no ged, but we're very proud of the $. |

Well... I got into college with a GED. That leads to a good paying job, so the answer to your question is YES, you can get a good paying job with a GED. |

Yes, though people without a GED find it more difficult to get those jobs. Expect to make at least 10% less than someone with a GED, and 30% less than someone with a four year degree. |

Yes, if you go into sales and are good at it. Also, if you start up your own business, but you need to know what you're doing and plan, plan, plan. The sister of a man I used to date never even got her GED (dropped out at 16) and owns a very successful office supply business. Just a guess, but I'll bet she's pulling in at least $300K per year and she's a mulitmillionaire. |

Yes, you really, really can. But it's going to be a lot of hard work. It would be easier to get a good paying job with a college degree. Employers worship that piece of parchment.
Really, the only difference is where you do the hard work - in college or on the job. As a general rule, college graduates will get the better paying jobs, but it is certainly not impossible to be successful without a college degree. |

It depends on what you consider good paying. One of the major differences between someone with a high school education and someone with a college education is that the person with the high school education will find it harder to advance in their chosen profession. They will hit a ceiling, so to speak. There really is no major difference between a traditonal HS Diploma and a G.E.D. though. You may get a decent paying job for the time being, but once your responsibilities increase (mortgage, car payment, children), you will of course need to make more money. |

i believe you can, just because you got a GED, doesn't mean you are less than. No one but you knows your situation and I personally know two people who never graduated nor have a GED and one makes 200,000 a year and the other about 50000 a year. They do physical labor though. So there are ups and downs.....but I believe that would be discrimination, there isn't much difference between a hs diploma and ged, hs diploma means you were actually in class, doesn't mean you paid attention. Good luck |
