It shouldn't be a problem but it would be better to destroy them and have the bank replace them with current ones.
I believe that (provided all the relevant information is there) it is still legal to write a cheque on the back of a pig! |

You can, but they should give you some new checks for free if they changed their name. |

call your bank and ask them I would say yes though |

It's a good idea not too, even though your bank may still honor them, it's best to check with your bank to avoid late fee's or even worse, a BAD CHECK. |

My banks name changed 2 years ago, and my checks still have their old name on it.
If all the other information remains the same it shouldn't matter. |

the bank usually allows you to use them while they are in a transitional state but no longer..they should have sent you this information when they were bought out or changed names..call your banks customer service |

If your account number and routing numbers are still the same. Or, if not, if the bank says they are still accepting the old numbers. Best to call and ask. |

I have went through 3 bank owner names and used the same checks for over 7 years. They work fine, the numbers are all transcoded to the account # just like ATM's, the system will recognize most However, look in your daily or weekly newpaper or junk mail, they always have a leaflet to buy checks cheap, and you just send a voided deposit ticket or voided check for the numbers, they come in a few weeks for 1/4 price the banks charge for double the number of checks. And the selections are way better too.
Plus never had a problem buying by mail, unlike online with pay pal or those bank account scam mails either! |
