You can write it but it will bounce and then you'll end up with bank charges. So its probably not a good idea. |

You *can* ... but it will cost you. You'll have to pay whatever your bank's overdraft fee is, plus whatever is charged by the merchant you write the bad check to. Oh, and if you write a check that you *know* is bad, that's technically a crime.
In other words, you *can*, but that would be a VERY bad choice. |

You can write a check anytime you want, however if you write a check without money in your account, you can legally be charged a bad check fee from your bank, plus an added charge from the place you wrote the bad check to.
Writing a bad check will cost you lots of money, plus the amount of the bad check you wrote, also hurts your credit score very much.

I work at a bank and if you have overdraft protection you can write a check if your in the negative, but to be honest it's more trouble than it's worth..You will have to pay overdraft fees to the bank plus a fee to the place you wrote the bad check too...I recommend coming up with another solution |

It depends on whether or not you have overdraft protection. My bank will cover up to 1000 dollars for me. |

Yeah, but make sure you have money in there within two days...However if you go somewhere where they have those Electronic Check machines, you are SOL because it tells them if you have enough money in your account to cover your purchase. |
