I think you could live reasonably on $30-75 per month. But you wouldn't be eating out or anything. There are dollar stores, .99 only stores all over, some have a good selection of food. If you want an actually plan on how to accomplish this cheap living, I would be happy to give more details. GOOD LUCK |

When I was single and lived in a studio apartment, my "poor" months consisted of eating ramen noodles (10 cents each at the 99 cent store). "Moderate" months included microwavable frozen meals for 99 cents each. You can supplement it to taste with fried hot dog slices, slices of bread (also 99 cents), or anything else you can find there. Milk and 99-cent cereal are also good, the fact that you get a whole box of cereal for 99 cents makes up for the high price of milk.
Only thing cheaper is to live with your parents! |

Rice, beans, nuts and V-8 juice at most any .99 cent type of store. Keep in mind "Public Transportation" >> the climate and region, state, city - ect.... If you have some form of verifiable income, i.e. Fed., state or pension of some kind and it's $400. + P.mo. you might want to consider moving to another country. Good Luck. |

also sugar. not to eat, of course, but to spread all over your apartment so you attract hungrier critters. ants, for one, are an excellent source of protein and, better, yet free.
and get all your water from public fountains so you don't have to spring for those...

Buy huge bag of rice and Huge packages of chicken Bulk is cheaper. Boil the chicken until tender. Save the broth and freeze in 6 oz amoints. Use the stock to cook rice in for flavor. Buy the cheapest vegis available at that time. You can get legs and thighs pretty chaep also. Buy boxed macaroni, and you can use macaroni alot, its 99 cents per box and you get at least 3 meals per box.
Ramen noodles are the cheapest thing avilable that you can get, a whole month of finners will cost you 3 dollars |

trying to live the stingiest and cheapest way possible may not be as easy as it sounds... if your looking for 10 cents a meal to a dollar a meal... you'd be looking for foods coming from the dollar store... which may not be very healthy...
as living the cheapest way may save LOADS of cash... you'd be extremely unhealthy from the low quality food your eating... and will probably shorten your life a lot more than if you were to just spend a little money on fresh food from the market |

I think you could get by on $100 a month but you'd basically only be eating top ramen, bologna sandwiches for lunch, and cereal. Or ALOT of spaghetti. |

It sounds like to me you would have to live off of Ramen Noodles (about 12 cents each), frozen burritos (about a dollar each), Banquet TV dinners (again about $1 each) bread ($1.50 per loaf), and eggs ($1.50 per dozen).....With such a minimum budget for food, you won't have the most diverse (or healthy) menu......But I understand living on a budget and I hope it works out for you =0) |

In this day and age ..unless you are in an unknown god forsaken country..no one can get a meal for 10cents.
Why don't you just budget properly ..put aside money for food..rent..utility..others.. That way you'd find that its easier to live and not overspend. You find that you can indulge yourself too on certain days. Spend wisely and save toward a better tomorrow. Good Luck. Remember..cheap is not always the best way to live..You must have a balance of everything. |

The cost of living depends on the location where you are living.
If you lived in the countryside of China, or Africa, you'd need very little. If you lived in Manhattan, you'd need a small fortune just to survive.
The cheapest way to get food is to buy a COSTCO membership ( if in the US ), and go there each day for the smaples. In this way you can have a modest lunch & dinner, and get variety to boot. After dining in Costco for about 3-6 months, you have more than recovered your membership fee.
Then, for drinks, go to any restaurant and order a glass of water.. Heck you may even get some ice cubes for free, or a bonus of a lemon slice!
And, for dessert, go play an accordian ( or fiddle ) at the entrance of the local subway station. Stop when you've collected $5, and go buy a dairy Queen ice cream cone.
