If you join your credit union now, in a month or so you can apply for a loan, and getting it is virtually assured. You need to save some amount with them regularly, and they use this figure to help establish an amount you can afford to pay back without hardship. It will also help you build a credit rating. |

Try a social lending site such as http://www.prosper.com/
You apply online, stating the amount, rate, and terms you'd like, and investors collectively bid on your loan. You have to be realistic in your request. If you want to borrow $3000, I would suggest a relatively short term of 12-18 months, and a high interest rate, such as 18%. In such an example $3000 borrowed for 18 months (you can always pay it off earlier) at 18% is about $192.00 per month. There is no guarantee that you will get the loan, but it's worth a try.
In all candor though, your income is extremely low, even if $600.00 were after taxes. If it's before taxes, I'd say your chances are almost nil, unless you're living with your parents. An IMHO, you shouldn't be taking out a loan with such low income.
Save up $300-$500 and get a secured credit card to build up credit. Maybe a second job too.

It would take you 2 1/2 years to pay this loan (at a very favorable 6% interest) back at $100/mo - if you could afford that much payment. Sorry. You are not a good credit risk. You will have to set aside your "need" unless it is literally life or death. Start banking $100/month (forever - I kid you not) and someday you will get credit when you least need it (excepting house and car loans) and can most afford to pay it back. |

If it's for a car, there's a very slight chance that a car dealer might get you financed, but with a very high interest rate.
If you're looking for a personal loan, not a chance except from the bank of mom and dad. And if you see something on the Internet that someone will give you a loan, RUN - they'll ask for an up front fee and you still won't get a loan, will just lose the fee - they're scammers.
If someone with good credit will cosign for you, you might have a chance though. |
