£30 per day?
Sure! As long as you're cooking for yourself and not eating out every day. |

Yeah, if as you say you don't need to worry about rent etc. then that should be ok. Food for one person for a month shouldn't cost you more than £80 if you are being reasonably careful (you can make it under £50 if you try hard). Cant think what you would spend the rest on cause i don't know if phone/ electricity/ water comes into this, but it sounds manageable. |

My gardener does |

that's £9600 a year! some people earn that and still have to pay for car, home etc! are you rich and oblivious to the poor people around you or something? |

I should hope so. Most old age pensioners have less than that per month. |

Yes of course you can.
It just depends on the size of your mortgage and how you live. |

Kerry A

utils could be 200 notes leaving 600 to boot. Thats roughly 20 quid a day...its easily doable and in some style...even in UK...you could be lording it up (outside london)! |

I currently do I earn 650 a month and my hubby earns just enough to pay rent nothing else.
we survive on my 650 its not easy but we manage |

I get just over £650 and I pay rent, council tax and everything else so I'd love your £800 a month thanks! |

I used to live on less than that and kept 2 children as well. My mortgage was £180 permonth and my insurances added up to another £50. That was just 4 years ago. So if you cannot you must have very expensive tastes. |

I did once.
Its all down to your life style. |
|

With no rent or mortgage to pay, no car to run, I could live comfortably on that amount. |

I guess you read the article in the Times about retiring to France too.
There is no way anyone can live other than in abject poverty in France on an income of £800 a month. It cant be done.
The guy who wrote this article is clearly ignorant of the cost of living in France and I must assume that the rest of his so called expertise is equally dubious.
You cant do it in the UK either |
