I feel that redistribution of wealth is a major portion of communist philosophy. If you earn money, you are entitled to keep it. No one has the right to take it from you and give it to people who have not earned it. |

I also know that your numbers are probably VERY concervative, and that in a couple years, those 40% would have all of the money back that was "re-distributed" and most likely a whole lot more on top of it...
It is about making the decision to not be part of the what I know to be 95%...not 60%...of people that by the time they are age 65 are broke....meaning they make less than $33,000 per year...and that on average pays for their medical expenses and food.... |

Did you know that most people who live in Western nations, like the United States, Australia, and Great Britain, are the top 10% of the worlds wealthiest people? Most people on Earth live on less than a dollar a day.
Kind of puts that $250000 US into perspective, doesn't it? Even the poorest people in Western nations are very wealthy by world standards, because they have access to food and shelter, albeit perhaps a soup kitchen and a hostel.
As for me, I don't really worry about how wealthy the rich are. They obviously did something somewhere in their history to acquire that wealth, and it's a tribute to their prowess as investors and money managers that they still have most of it. Sure, there are many people in Western countries living under what we designate as the 'poverty line' and some, if helped, will climb out of poverty, and some , if helped, won't.
I'm an Australian. Based on our population, the average Australian has $52000. I know quite a lot of Australians that don't have $1000. Its nothing to get bitter about. People do what they can according to their abilities and their motivation. |

I think that the people that have that wealth worked their butts off for it, and good for them, but I also have to say that money isn't everything. I have a decent job doing something I enjoy, I have a family that loves me and that I love, we have a roof over our head, food on the table, and we are quite secure and happy. |
