Do You Have An Emergency Fund Saved...In Case You Lose Your Job? How Did You Get Started Saving?
Do you give a certain percentage from your pay, or just pay a set amount to your emergency fund each time?

FC
Add up all of your living expenses for one month, sans entertainment. After you've decided it's a just amount, multiply by six. You should have at least SIX months of liquid in an account for an emergency. It's called a rainy day fund. If you see you haven't used it up, shop around for CD rates. Credit Unions offer some of the best percentages around. Invest the money for 3, 6, 12, or 18 months.

first of all be confident that u will never lose ur job dont be pesimestic.
second thing is that i have an emergency fund for my bad time
take a diary and write down all the thinks which r necesarry for life and try to get the chiep and the best.
hve a frnz who can tell u that what is important for u for which u r paying.
i m sure after some days u will really have an amount for ur bad time as u think
but i think if u believe in ur self u will never face too such type of problem.

I have a few different bank accounts. When I get paid, I put my money in one account. That account pays twenty five dollars a week into my savings account. I also put money in my savings when I have a little extra. I hardly notice it, and over time it will add up.

Put money in your savings FIRST, then live off of what you have left.

Go to www.daveramsey.com or order his audio book through iTunes. He has a great way to get out of debt, build a emergency fund and build wealth - real wealth. We are out of debt and working on our emergency fund. We have saved 4800 towards our goal of a 12,000 fund.

budgets are a necessary thing.it hurts your bartime or whatever ,but it feels good not to worry about paying your bills. have 1 credit card & never exceed in 1 month 1 paycheck.

I'mstillhere
I used to put what ever I had left over from my pay at the end of 2 weeks into the savings account but that started being to hard so I started just taking it myself, 80.00 into savings/mth. I also work over time so that I have a little bit extra.

Set aside $50 from each pay check....put it in an compunded account and in 20 years with compunded interest, you could reach 1 million by leaving the money and not touching it.

I did 100 bucks a month. (missed sometimes when I needed it)
Put it into Sharebuilder. (Loewest cost to buy stocks in small amounts. and does dollar amounts allowing fractional shares. You don't have to buy a whole share at once)
I picked Dividend Paying stocks with low debt to equity ratios.
(long term holds.)
A few in my portfolio like ADM screamed through the roof. (Not a great buy now BTW but was then)
Over the last 4-5 years I've put in about $4000...
BUT I have $15000 in the account now!
And it's kinda fun to try and find the best gainer over time.
Nothing beats research.
For 20-50 bucks a paycheck. (I could'nt always afford it.)
That is pretty good.
BTW never buy less than $100... just put it in the money market account they have at 4.X percent then buy stocks out of the MM account.
$100 will have a 4% load... don't go any higher than that.
Larger block if you can afford it. The load gets smaller.
I also try to get most stocks that are at least 2-5 percent below the 200 day moving average. (Better gains has been my experience)

YA! 4ever
I have 4 kids so I might be saving less than other folks. I set aside $200/month in my Emergency Fund. Im looking at getting a part time job, so I will be able to put more in there monthly. With kids you never know what could happen.

Start saving right away. Have bonds or stock funds. Best thing to do. Save save save. If you have a choice to go out and buy a $50 steak or go to Mcdonnalds and get a burger for buck you save 49$ so ... save

PS please award best answer
