Some banks will. Some banks won't if you don't have an account with them.
So if you don't have a checking account, your best bet is to take the check to the bank that it's drawn on, in other words your employer's bank, the bank whose name is on the check. They will usually cash it for you even though you don't have an account, because the account it's drawn on is with them and they know that the check is good. |

They do cash checks for you...if you don't have an account with them they'll charge you a fee of like $5. Also, you'll need two forms of i.d. one has to have your photo on it (i.e. drivers license). This is the case at Bank of America.
If your checking account is in the negative they will use the money from your check to bring it back up to balance. i.e. you will not get the full check amount in your hand you'll have to balance your checking account first.

Yes, they do. If you owe the bank money, they'll take what's owed first & give you the rest, if any's leftover. You also get reported to Cheques System for not paying back the bank after about 6 months, sometimes sooner.
It's best to take your paycheck to the bank it's drawn on. Some will charge a small fee, about $5 or less, others won't, depending on the bank. |

yes thay can cash the check - but some banks may require you to show proof of ID, and you may have to pay a small fee unless you have a account at that bank. Another idea would be to have a friend that has an account somewhere come along when you cash the check and just sign the check over to them and have them cash the check at there bank for you.
