A legit bank/transaction would get their fee in the transaction. Example: if you had a $25.00 fee and wanted to transfer $1000 you would pay $1025 for the transaction no trustworthy bank would charge up front. Any other method is a scam |

If you are transferring money between bank accounts at the same bank there isn't usually a fee. If you are transferring money from Bank A in your hometown to Bank B 2000 miles away, then it's called a wire transfer and there is a fee from Bank A to send the money and a fee from Bank B to recieve the money. My bank charges $28 for wire transfer whether they are sending or recieving the money. |

If you are in a hurry, or it's a large amount and you want the safety of doing it bank-to-bank, then there will be a small fee (under USD 100) for a wire transfer. Otherwise, if you want to do it yourself by carrying a check, then no.
When someone wants tens of thousands of dollars for their "expenses" before they can send you the money, then you are seeing what is called the "advance fee scam". They do this because some people actually fall for this and send money. They never answer the question: if they have all this money to send, why can't they take some of it to pay the expenses? |

You do pay a fee to a bank if you wire transfer money to another account. There is a fee if you wire money to Brazil, for instance. You pay the wire fee and the person that picks up the money has to pay a fee for receiving money from another country.
You pay that fee to a bank - not to a third party. |

yes. some rates are lower than others. some credit card banks charge a 3% fee and others charge a percent based on how much you transfer. if you have a substanital amount of debt or higher percentage rate on one credit card it is wise to transfer it to a lower percentage rate credit card to pay off your debt quicker. hope this helps. |
