Do you believe a 17 year old can go to school mantain a job while living with someone other than his parents?

Om Santi
Of course I do! I did it! Living with my husband since I was 16 and making it just fine!

brattgirl1369
It can be done because I had todo it when I was 15. I am now 40 and I've done pretty good for myself. However I am a very strong woman so not everyone can deal with the certain issues life may bring your way. It is so much easier to be with your parents because you don;t have to have the worry of paying rent. However if your parents are drunks or drug addicts then go and live on your own.

good luck...

Sure, as long as you're living with some one who is mature and is or alreadu has maintained a job and school without thier parents. And no, this does not include your girlfriend. And if she's mature enough then she's probably old enough to make you a victem of statutory rape.

Your best bet is to move in with someone who will help and support you wether you are doing it with them or following in their footsteps, and not to move in with someone who you plan to party with or have lots of sex with.

Trust me. As soon as I graduated high school, my girlfriend, her son and I all had an apartment and it was nothing but work and sex. No time for school. Sex comes first. Especially when you're 17. For your own good, avoid my past, PLEASE!

they would have to pay for their lodgings, so they would have to have a part time job after school.it has been done many times.

whatelks67
yes I am sure that there are some 17 year olds that could do it, but at what price. They will be losing some of the best times of their lives by playing at being a adult so soon. They should stay at home, if home is a safe place to be, and be a kid for as long as they possibly can, because once childhood is over, you can't go back.

dukalink6000
No, too much time pressures.

KariM
yes, but it does really depend on the 17 year old.

Ally
Yes, if he is really working hard to get his GED.

y not? just because he is 17 does not make him irresponsible. As long you are comfortable with the people he is staying with, try not to worry. Do keep an eye on his grades/attendance at school and if they appear to be effected adversely, make him change something. Like move him home first and if no improvements at school are made, tell him he has to give up the job until his grades and attendance improves.

absolutely, but it is not going to be easy. you need to keep your head on straight and be mature and responsible. There won't be to much fun in your life with school work and bills not to much time left.

Well i feel it will be an up hill battle all the way.Seventeen is young and hard enough..and work on top and a friend is really stressful.Your folks come from earlier times you say but they to had to work to make it.Nothing is free and you must pay for much.Bills are there to pay and with work comes pay,but with work comes stress.Sometimes we must swallow our pride and say folks i need help. You will have ups and downs with your job ,folks and life. But so will your room mate too. This will add more to you.So think well on this.So i think it has to be to you to do ,but keep if you can the channel to your folks open to talk to if you need them and be there for them...let them know that..thus that will help on this to.Good luck...
