I don't. Poor people are poor because of the way they think, and how they manage money. You can keep giving poor people handouts and money and they will keep going broke. Look how many lottery winners (over 60%) go Bankrupt within a few years. I think we should focus on providing better education in school systems regarding money, investing, and creating wealth. They never teach this in school. |

well, you are generalizing 'poor people', there are different kinds of poor people, some being the kind of people that work hard at their 2 minimum wage jobs and barely make ends meet. These people don't ask for hand outs, but these are the people that need them, if i were rich enough to pay these people's tuition for some quality education, i would totally "give money to poor people" |

When I traveled to India, a lot of beggars there. Local people told me...give them food or fruit, but not money. Then, they explain, if I give them money, they will not use it to buy food...they will buy drug instead. huooo! Also, a decent human will not ask money from someone else. |

You are 100% right. Give an imbecile a million bucks and they'll be broke again in no time. In America most people are poor because they are lazy, stupid, ignorant or a combination of any of the aforementioned. You can't do anything for the poor. Tend to your own needs and don't try to help the hopeless. Howard Stern has given homeless people 10 grand in cash on several of his shows. More than enough to make a fresh start. They invariably spent it foolishly and were still homeless. The hell with the poor! They're idiots and deserve their lot in life. |

money? only if they work for it. i've given street people a job: clean the garage, do some yard work and i'll give you $$. it's not just management of funds. you have to also manage your drug or alcohol problem. or your mental health issue. or your gambling problem. anyway no i don't just give $$ for free. if i have to work for it, so do they. |

It's not so much the Adults, that I feel sorry for, but rather the children born into poverty households. As a child brought up in a poor home, I speak from experience. My parents were abusive and had no college education. Therefore I had no choice as a child to live poorly. You shouldn't be so judgemental because all situations are different. As far as I am concerned, that if it weren't for people giving money to my family, I would have gone hungry more times than i had. I may have grown up poor, but i also grew up very grateful for the things I did have. Now as an adult, I have taken the steps in assuring my children don't have to go through the same as I had. I also feel if as person is capable of working 40 hours a week they should. |
