Question is not worded very precisely. Do people dislike money as a concept? Dislike money as a pursuit? Dislike the look of our currency and coins? Or is it something else?

Money serves a very crucial function. Without some form of universally accepted exchange of value, we would have a barter system. If you worked for a company that made widgets and therefore you got paid in widgets, and you wanted to buy a TV, you would have to find a person who sold TVs who wanted widgets or had some use for widgets. Because the person with the TV will need to use whatever you use to pay to buy the good and services that the TV person has. And if no one wanted widgets, you would either not be able to buy a TV or you would have to pay a higher value in widgets to get the person with the TV to accept them. And concepts of exact change in a barter system are often difficult. So barter systems are very inefficient.

With money, you get paid for your services with money. You can use that money to buy any good and services that you want because the folks with the goods and services know that they can use the money you use to pay to buy whatever goods and services that they want. And now you can give people change. That all makes an economy efficient.

You can use whatever form of exhcange that you want. Debit and credit cards are denominated in dollars but you rarely actually see paper dollars being used at all in the system. So our medium for exchange is money but in electronic form rather than paper currency and metal coins.

At this point, I really find paper currency and coins frustrating. I would prefer to go to a non-cash system where everything is paid for using some type of electonic medium of exchange. We are approaching that point. But privacy concerns may not allow us to go all the way. Any electronic payment or transfer can be tracked. And that information can be used by businesses and marketers for advertising and other profit seeking ends. And there are a lot of people who would just assume that corporate America does not know each and everything that they buy. We also have a lot of people who use cash for everything.

Money is good as long as you earn it honestly.

Brittney
i would love it if people would work and receive things in return honestly without being greedy, but we cant have that. i dislike the fights money causes, but i like to have money.

I hate money....because I don't have it. I do but you know what I mean. It's just such a hassle. Why do we need it. So rich people can show off ****. It only divides people into three groups; the people with all the money (never really deserved anything, everything is just handed to them), the people with no money (classified as low-class, can't do anything), and those people that have even amount of money(hard working everyday, nothing handed to them, break even). Money is a simple piece of paper with some pics of dead presidents, that governments actually set a value for. Then when we don't have enough money to do anything(a national level), like help dieing, hungry, uneducated people, and try and fix all the problems with the world. Why can't they just start printing enough money for ever one, whats stopping them. I know I'm going to have a sale that you can only buy things with my Pescado dollars and I'm going to offer the best things ever that everyone needs. I'll make $20 trillion worth.(exchange rate) Then we'll see what happens

They say money makes the world go 'round, and I have to agree. Without money, you are so limited. We work our butts off at jobs (most of us) we don't like, just to make ends meet. Any raises we get just offset the ever-rising cost of living and fuel...it's a vicious cycle. I don't like money at all. I think we should go back to a barter and trade system! : ) Kidding - I know that would never happen. But seriously, do YOU like money? Maybe if I made enough to live comfortably, I would like it, but as my kids grow up, it costs more and more to feed, clothe, and put them through school...yes, I know that's my job, and I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that the amount of money I have to spend just for necessities for my family is out of control! And I don't see and end to it...

I love money. I think that once you hit a certain amount of money, there's nothing you can't accomplish. Look at Bill and Melinda Gates- they donate tons of money to help with medical research and finding cures for things like AIDS. Money isn't bad, just how people choose to spend it.
