never... i use the online service, Online bill pay, debit cards so there is no need too... whatever the online site says is always exactly what is in my account.. i havent written a check in over 10 months

always, ive found a few bank errors over the years! everyone makes mistakes, even banks. I remember once i withdrew some cash from the cashpoint and when i checked it i was £50 short! i went straight into the bank and told them, they didnt believe me but i demanded thy take my details and phone me once they had checked it out! i recieved an appology and had my £50 back by the end of the week!

AM-NM centaur
Absolutely. It is the only way to locate the occasional error I make. Out of 3,000 checks, the bank has erred on one or two.

francol
yes I scrutinise mine every month, I know where every penny went - well, sort of!

David M
Every month on Quicken.

I used to, to the penny but than the banks got cool and started uploading your information on line...so I started checking that daily. I actually like it better because I can keep better tabs on whats cleared etc, than having to wait for the monthly report or calling ever so many days.

I dont look at my bank statements. I just record off of online banking all the time. I dont even open my statements...they go right to the shredder. :)

Looking at your other answers, I feel ashamed to tell you that I no longer check my statements. The main reason is the sheer disgust I feel at the amount my bank (Abbey) is taking from me for all sorts of spurious reasons. I write them all down, then I write to Abbey, and they don't bother to reply. But after today's news about bank charges, I will press rather harder.
My financial situation is in disarray, and I wish I could afford for someone to put it all straight, but I can't. I focus instead on just living, doing the best I can for other people, providing for my family, and thinking that banks etc could easily swallow up all my debts. Banks are greedy, greedy, greedy ... They will never change, and the days are long gone when you could talk to another human being, now it's all just machines, telephones, 16 digit codes to type in, security codes, your date of birth, your mother's maiden name, the most recent transaction on your account, and MAYBE someone will then condescend to actually speak to you. I loathe banks, I loathe bank statements, I loathe their stupid threatening letters. The world is ending.

its not my time
I agree with mitch w, I just do my all banking online, its so much more easier and convenient. I get all my statements online too.

Swansea
Yes I go on internet banking...... and look every week at it !
