Do you rent or own a place?
Do you rent or own your place?
If you own your place, how did you come up with the money. Right now I'm renting because I am not able to afford to own my place. I just would like to know how you succeed.

Own outright - no mortgage.
Long story basically got a grant to vacate our local government house we rented. Put a deposit down on a fixer upper. 10 years later sold it for a 280% profit. Divorced and bought my own place.

Renting is throwing money away.
I lived home until I had enough money to buy a place.

My mortgage payment is only $100 more a month then my best friends apt, and they are the same size.

Own its better because u dont have to pay the owner and the taxes.

You have to save save save and get something that you will be able to afford the payment on. Just say that you are paying $500 rent and you are really serious about getting a house. Pretend the mortgage payment will be $800-$900. You will need to put away that extra $400-$500 each month as if you are paying that mortgage. Before you know it...you will have the money to put down on a home and know you will be able to make that mortgage payment. It works...I did it

Own.

Save as much money as you can. Many times a house payment is about the same as rent and you can deduct the interest from taxes. There are many "no money down" mortgages out there.

hy hons gay boyfriends daviie and steeviie, hons, gay porno stars and nude waiters gay mens bar restaurants and male striperss hons, and we just bought our first condo, after, moving from a one bedrom nightmare, built next too a convience store with a pay phone right next too our bedromm window. and the crank cals from that stupidd phone, wopuld ring ring, people would call at 3 in the morning and order baskets of flowerrs and pizaaas, or want directions. the roof leaked the sewer backed up, the place was a dump. we saved for our new brand new condo for about 3 years hons and ate plenty of boxed macaroni chesse and scrimed saved. anyways not to mention the traffic from the stupidd convience store and the drunks and gas fumes. we have heard that they have now torn downe that nightmare, never gainn do we hear a paty phone ringing of the hook at 3 in the morning from some body ordering pizaas or wanting baskets of flowers. there was somethng screwed up[ in the pay phone as too were it wouldent accept money so all we had too do was stick our head out of bedrom window and cal anywhere hons!! that was great but everything else-- what a dump!!

I rent an apartment for $730 a month...real old place built back in 1951. I want to look for a modern one that does not have termites and roaches.

If you're trying to pay off credit card debts, make payments through a credit counseling service. I used MMI. With each paycheck, try to save at least 30%.

I have owned my first home for a little over 1 year now. I love it! My mortgage pmt is less than i would have to spend on renting a place!! I would recommend looking into first time home owner's programs. They can help you with a down pmt and getting a lower interest rate. Most banks/mortgage places like you to have at least 20% for your down pmt, so if you are thinking about starting to save i would start thinking about how much you will be able to afford for your monthly mortgage pmts then figure out approx. how much the total price for the house would be then calculate out the 20%. That figure would be your goal to save for. However, 20% can be a lot of money for most people, so that is where the 1st time home owner programs come in handy. A lot of people dont think about this but one of the advantages to renting is if something breaks in the apartment (like your stove) all you have to do is call your landlord and they send someone in to either fix it or get you a new one.....no money out of your pockets!!
