Think about how many cash transactions you have everyday - buying gas, cup a' joe, groceries, clothing. This would mean every time you buy a bottle of water for $1.47, you pay three extra cents. You don't honestly think businesses will round down and take the loss, do you? Have you ever known a gas station to do this? The price of gas is actually $x and 9/10 cent (thanks to gov't taxes). You don't really think they round down, do you? |

i'd get rid of nickels, too. they're way too bulky for what they're worth. give everyone a chance to cash their pennies and nickels into dimes, and then we pay in dimes and quarters. i like it. |
