A little trick of mine when my husband and I first married (26 years ago) was to drop the amount at the end of the pay cycle (pretend I started with a zero amount each deposit) and when I got enough, I bought a CD which locked it up for a year...then longer. Eventually we had enough to start in some higher yield investing like funds and stocks. You probably have some software on your computer like Qukcken or Money (Microsoft's) that can let you do a decent budget. You need to find the little things that steal your money...lattes, candy bars, eating out, that extra shirt that you couldn't live without...adds up to BIG bucks. Or pounds for UK, I guess! -Pay off any credit card debt first since you are paying interest on your debt.
-Shop at Walmart for food stuff, if you can
-Clip Sunday coupons
-Do not eat at restaurants
-If you can, take 10% of your paycheck and put it in a savings account ( but pay off any debt with intetst first)

Trust me on this One I used to sell cars for 6 years ! I had to slowly reduce the selling price then turn the customer over to my manager and try to Hold a profit of at least $400 over Cost so i would get paid $150 for the sale!

also set up your PC to go to sleep after ten minutes of non use !

theres no point in saving up thousands of dollars. once you have...say.....$5,000 invest in a company that has been doing well lately. soon, your money that you put into that company will be doubled, then tripled etc. I invested $500,000 in Marriott hotels and i made $8,000,000 so far. i hope this helped : ) |
