Most Americans only THINK they live paycheck-to-paycheck. If they really tracked their expenses and how much they spend on unnecessary stuff, they'd realize that they have a great deal of disposable income that they are, well ...disposing of.
Creating a spending plan (budget) and tracking my expenditures for a month helped me realize how much money I was wasting. |

Yeah, and It really isn't fun. I'm having a baby soon, and I'm trying to save up as much money as possible, but it's not working too well when we both live paycheck to paycheck :( |

It is the American way in percentages, then there are those who do pretty good, who get your pay check. Walmart, Fuel company's, the Feds. |

What's the question? No one "lives" from paycheck to paycheck... they survive and pray nothing happens outside of the norm.
A friend told me that if you put away a little bit every paycheck, it will add up over time. I'm starting with a goal of saving so much before the end of the year. You have to just do it or you will never start. |

most americans spend twice what they make. so if you make 30,000, it is more then likely you will spend 60,000. |

We did, until we started writing down where our money was going too. We found that a lot was going places that we could cut back on ie eating out and clothes. Now, I freecycle my clothes and get really neat stuff also. My kids clothes is bought at GoodWill and also freecycle. We love to drink tim horton's coffee and that too was getting pricy at month end. so now we buy the coffee tins and the milk in the cans and it tastes about the same. Hope that helps |

Are you kidding? Why don't you ask who doesn't.....
The vast majority of Americans live two paychecks away from bankruptcy. That is an established statistical fact. I know I do. |
