Does anyone think that the online paid surveys are a con?
i am thinking of joining up but they all want a fee up front, i dont mind paying a fee if theres a guarantee you will partake in the surveys

do you think i will be ripped off

You shouldn't need to pay a fee up front. The Times online did a moneymaking article mentioning the names of several survey companies you might try. My experience is that they don't pay very much. However it is quite handy to be given points which you can save to spend on Amazon and to get gifts.
I have tried Lightspeed and Zoom Rewards, which are both OK but I have never won any of their lottery prizes. I have just joined Ciaou - very low pay, but entered into lotteries (this was one of the ones mentioned by the Times). The first two I can't remember how I got involved, but probably also a newspaper article. I tend to think that if they are endorsed by a quality newspaper they are probably OK.

ps I live in UK.

It's a scam if you have to pay up front. I do online surveys through NFO and they have been good to me for about 2 years now.

Most are scams... DO NOT pay a fee! Check these out.. They pay a buck or 2 per survey... You won't make a lot.

There are plenty of sites that are not scams and do not ask for a fee.

Google (or Yahoo :D) it.

Didn't worked out for me. I got spam in my inbox, none of which ever gets answered. The free washing machnes the giveaway are only for US citizens.

Unless you're from the US, I really don't recommend it.

i do some online survey one called valued opinions and have earnt money from them may not be huge amounts but a few mins of yr time every few weeks is worth it

I wouldn't do any surveys that charge a fee. There are enough surveys out there that pay good and don't charge a fee. A friend of mine has checks coming in all the time. Also, some of them put money on her pay pall account. She only does them a couple of hours a day. So, she would make more if she put in more time. She also gets a lot of free products to try at home, and do a survey on the product. Most survey places have a test for you to take to see if you qualify, and will tell you which ones you would qualify for. I hope this helped you.
