Stop being a spoil brat you have to learn that sometime in life you can not get everything you want because bills have to be paid and sometime life throw you a ball that is so hard that you can not afford to enjoy the things that you want to enjoy in life...You want clothes and other stuff but if your dad was to go broke getting them items for you, could your clothes keep you dry from the pouring rain. Please Stop hurting your dad because you are his daughter and it would or is hurting him that he can not get you the things that you want so please for right now until things get better leave it alone I mean you can ask but if he say that you guys can't afford it then Respect your father and just Leave it alone unless you want to get a job(like baby sit) so you can buy your own stuff if you are under the age that is allowed to work in a fast food place anyway Take Care and God Bless |

Only the people who work hard for their money or are not well off have problems. But the RICH people who get their money handed to them are swimming in millions! |

A lot of people have money problems. Some are just better at hiding it than others. |

Not every single person in the world, but many people are.
You never know when people have problems. Sometimes in school, people like to put up a front. They take like they're perfect and have perfect lives but in reality everyone has SOME kind of problem(s).
Appearances are deceiving. |

Everybody is having money problems, even Bill Gates and Warren Buffet(just check how much they have lost this year). To the comment about Obama: Obama wouldn't have won the election without the people making over 250k. Believe it or not, 52% of them voted for him too (Because they know a 3% increase in taxes is nothing compared to all the other things he intends on fixing). Warren Buffet and Bill Gates both donated to Obamas campaign by the way, so I wish people would stop making it look like Obama is out to hurt the rich. I make $65k a year and everybody I know is still having "problems". This year I would say I made about 50k, 15 thousand less than what I should have. I live in Thailand half the year so its not just the USA. Kids in school are putting up acts, its their parents who are hurting, not them. They dont have to work for the money and happy people make more friends so they are probably faking it. |

The economy is down. Your dad's job could be more affected by it than other parents' jobs. When people make less money or prices of goods increase, they spend less money on things that are luxuries - new jeans and shoes, for example. You should respect your parents. I'm sure they know a lot more about the economy and their personal finances than you do. Instead of griping about it on the internet, ask him to explain things to you. |

Actually, Bobby dear, I don't get a single cent from charity - I just don't have Daddy's plastic. It must be nice not to have to worry about a thing.
And I feel so bad for you for the money "problems" you're going to have - much better to let children starve so you can have so much money. An inequitable division of money makes moral sense to me.
And yes, me and my family are having money problems. |

Yes, the economy is really bad right now. We might actually go through another depression. Focus on other things than materials, ask more questions, your dad can explain. |

Yes money is a big issue specially in big families. You should appreciate and value what your parents give you right now. One day you will be able to work and you will see why it is so hard buying some things. Other people might act as if they don't have this type of problems, but deep inside, not because you dress cool it means you are happy. To start with, you don't know where people get clothes or what they do to get money. You will grow up and realize that clothes and money are not that important in life. Good lick. |

Rosh,
Yes.
Just think about it.
Normal unemployment is 4 % (taking into account people changing jobs, people getting laid off)
We are heading towards 6 %
The treasury just loaned the Banks $700,000,000,000.00
The loaned AIG approx 120 Billion
There are over a 1,000,000 homes in foreclosure.
We are heading to GM laying off 1,000,,000. people.
Trust me things are not good, But there are better times to come.
If your dad and mom are working, that is a good thing.
home values have gone down in certain states 30%
People have lost some of their retirement.
I am hanging in there
They loaned GM 100 Billion |

Quite a few people have money problems. Some people hide the fact that they have financial difficulties. Have patience, the money problems may eventually clear up, but if they don't, try helping out by getting a part time job. Trust me you'll feel great getting that first pay cheque! If you don't want to work, get only a few things at a time, don't spend a whole bunch of money at once. Believe me your parents will thank you for it.
Good Luck! |

The economy is not doing well for most people. Many got laid off and some had lost their houses.
Your dad is right. Just don't ask too much on spending. |

yes.
you should realize people at your school are either:
A) oblivious to their parent's problems
B) have parents who are stupid enough to get into financial debt to get their kids stupid things they dont need
C) are pretending that they dont have money problems at home
do not be materialistic |

A lot (a whole lot, me included) of people are having money problems right now. Things aren't always what they seem as far as the kids at school go. No one wants their friends to know the parents are having money problems so they don't talk about it and act like everything is ok. I have 2 teens and 2 in elementary school. I share the money problems a little with the older ones. Gas prices were high, food prices are up, electric is up...everything going up except my paycheck. I think kids/teens need to know a little about the money of the family. Not all of the details, just enough to know not to hand me a 2 page Christmas List. |

Most people unless their parents both have good jobs, are hurting and it just may be that those parents do not like to discuss those money issues with their children. I don't know of anyone who isn't having problems. If you want new things, try getting a job, or tell your parents that you will be satisfied with the less expensive brands. And don't look for things to get better yet because I don't believe they will. We are in for the long haul in this "recession". |
