Does salvation army buy your clothes?
and give you the money? or what. because im planning on selling a bunch of my school clothes from last school year, the one that just ended. and if salvation army doesnt buy, then who could i sell my old clothes to for cheap? i dont really want to just give them away, i want to get money for them. and just for the record i've previously given salvation army like 5 trashbags of clothes that me and my sister didnt want anymore.

No, it's donations only.
You could try E-Bay.

Nope, Salvation Army is donations only which means no money for you.
You could sell them on Ebay - my mom does this & makes pretty good $ [as long as they are nice clothes in nice condition].
Or, you could talk with owners of consignment shops - usually they will give you a percentage of what the clothes sell for, and this is the same as Ebay, must be nice clothes in nice condition.
Or just have a yard/garage sale/put an ad in the newspaper.

Ginger
Salvation Army, Goodwill and Amvets take your donations. If you itemize your taxes, up to $500 can be easily deducted for charity.

Since you need cold, hard cash, take them to a resale shop, advertise on craigslist.com, or have a yard sale. You won't get much money for used clothes unless they are designer, in excellent condition, and clean.

Why don't you have a yard sale? I sometimes go to a local flea market to sell my old clothes on Sunday. I make anywhere from $150-400!!! If you don't have a flea market near you have one in your driveway on saturday.

Enchanted
No...you donate the clothes, they sell them to get money. Why not donate? You can also donate to the Red Cross - they don't re-sell; they give them directly to people in moments of disaster. Do you realize how many needy people you would be helping?

If you really want to sell them, either hold a garage/yard sale or take them to a consignment shop.

The Salvation Army as with many other charities accept donations of old clothing but will not buy from you. If you wish to sell school clothes..or any other for that matter then Ebay or privately are the best ways.
Best wishes, Mike.

Well if you gave Salvation Army 5 bags of clothes you would know they don't buy your clothes. Its a volunteer thing. You give for free and they sell and help people who need help.Sounds like your just looking for money to me.

No, Salvation Army accepts donations, but doesn't pay you money for the donations.

Some places there are consignment shops that will display your clothes, and if someone buys them, you'll get the money minus a commission. As far as selling outright, you'd probably have to just find someone who wants to buy them, there aren't a lot of companies around that do.

The Salvation Army would gladly accept the donation of usable clothes. EBay or a garage sale if you want sell them.

Good luck.

No, the Salvation Army doesn't buy your clothes, they're a charity. Depending on how new your clothes look you could try consignment stores in your area. I don't know if these stores are everywhere, but there are stores like the Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads what will buy clothes from you or let you exchange your clothes with other clothes that people have sold to them.

The only place to sell your clothes is a garage sale or a cosignment place.
