I received an extremely large check in the mail. It says I need to go to a store like walmart or Jcpennys and buy 300 dollars worth of merchandise fill out an evaluation sheet and fax it back. I get paid 150 and I get to keep the merchandise. But the catch is I have to send them the rest of the money back which is $2356 through Western Union. They say it is to see if they can trust me and they are seeing how long Western union is fast at getting money to people.
Is this a real job? Im not sure I was going to go cash the check in a new account so if it is a scam to try to take my money I wouldnt have any real money in their lol. But should I try. I know it seems like a scam but it doesnt hurt to try right? |

This is a scam. There has been numerous things on the news about stuff like this. What will happen is that the check is no good and once you cash it, when it bounces it will come back to your account (and, unless you have enough in the account to cover the check, it will overdraw your account and you will encure all sorts of trouble!) They will have their $2356 and you will be left holding the bag! AVOID this at all costs!!!! |

Any company that asks for a Western Union Money Transfer is usually a scam. The check WILL be able to be cashed (the routing number will be correct). However, the bank it is drawn on will probably not be the same as the routing number. Go to : http://yourfavorite.com/checkwriter/verify.htm to verify the check information. If the check routing number is valid, check with the bank on the account number. |

I wouldnt touch that with a ten foot pole. Western Union IS fast at getting money to people, why would they need to send you money to see that? Wouldnt they send money to someone they trust to test that out? And if they're testing your truthfulness, shouldn't you be testing theirs? |

it is a scam, and it will hurt to try, when you send them the remaining $2356 back, you will lost that money. the check you received is a bogus check, you can deposit it, but eventually it will bounce, usually after you have already sent them the remaining money, and now you will be out all that money. report it to the police or fbi, and take the check to them. these are fraudsters who need to be stopped.
