Dumb question?
so I'm not big on banking stuff...... can I use my credit card to purchase a money order or cashier's cheque?
Yes!
You can get a money order from a 7-11, post office, supermarket, etc; & they ALL will take credit.
The Cashier's check might not, depending on your bank.
Rain
No.
Cash only in most places.
Lynn
No - only cash.

You might possibly find a place that would do it - but you'd be paying interest.
If you read the fine print on those "checks" that come with your credit card statements, interest starts accruing on them the moment you use them. It's not like regular credit charges, where you can pay it off at the end of the month and not have to worry about getting charged for interest.
jlcaooscl
some times you can, but you'll trigger the cash advance rate, which is higher than your regular rate.

i doubt it

Probably not. But if you have enough cash in your checking account (or savings) and have a VISA debit card you can take a cash advance against it (without interest). Then you may buy your money order or cashier's cheque.
Woof.

cashiers checks are only available for bank customers only at your bank, and that's only by withdraw or by check,
and money orders from the banks cost more then a post office or other store and using credit card i dont know

Depends on the credit card...you should be able to call their number and find out.

No, as far as I have ever known you have to pay cash.
