Sorry that happened, I also found out shipping overseas is an adventure.
I always put the shipping in as $1 for the lower 48 states, all other places to be calculated and have insurance. |

The moral of the story is that you need to charge for shipping AT COST. And buying and selling on eBay is a risky and poor way to make a buck. |

And, select the destination of the auction or put in your description that "shipping charges varies". |

don't put $1 for shipping! i've sold a few items and i always pick the calculate shipping option so i don't get screwed cuz i'm scared of that happening!

the moral of the story is check out the shipping costs before you decide youre willing to send it to another country, and make sure you tell the bidder of the shipping costs so they dont get any nasty surprises! |

Your explanation isn't very clear:
*You bought an item for $300
*Re-sold it for $400
*Neglected to specify which countries you would sell to or amend your shipping charges accordingly.
*As a consequence you're lumbered with $185 shipping to Australia.
That sounds like an unrealistically high differentiation in shipping costs regardless of the destination, what was the item?. What can you send within the USA that suddenly costs 185 times more when it's sent to Australia?.
Moral = don't be greedy, also learn to list items correctly with the exact locations you're prepared to send to AND a pre-determined shipping cost for any eventuality. |

I thnk the moral of the story is never cheat people. Never try to use the advantage of other people's money. If u have bought an item for this much money, sell at that amount u bought to another person. |
