depends on which area they go in to. I know lawyers who are not at all well off, they are constantly worried about bills and do what they do cos they love it, they love insuring the law is adhered to and things are fair.
I also know of doctors who work in harley street london and who are rolling in it.
It all depends on how you apply your skills, are you better than anyone else, and also which sector you choose to work in, the oublic sector which is more forfilling and you are more likely to feel like you are doing a good job and helping people, or the private sector where people often are hard, not nice, expectations are way higher and the job wont leave you feeling as good at the end of the day as one working with the public would.
Leaving someone breathing after a major road traffic accident is a whole lot more rearding that achieving the prefect knee cap/chin implant on a 45 year old vain women.
Three guesses who gets the bigger salary. |

It depends on many specifics, but in general, a doctor will earn more than a lawyer.

NEITHER. The PERSON has more impact than the profession.
Has anyone considered pro bono work? |

Has nothing to do with the profession and everything to do with the person. I know doctors that barely get by making 30k a year and attorney's that make millions and millions and vice versa.
Apply yourself to something you are passionate about and you will be successful. |

well it all depends on how much money you want and how much effort you are willing to put to get to that income level you desire. some lawyers make 50k some make millions- Michael jackson lawyer does. - for that its how much you are willing to lie to get your client free out of jail. |

Depends on the doctor's specialty and the lawyer's specialty and how good you are. Surgeons do much better than non surgeons and specialists do better than generalists. Anywhere from $100k - $300K average. Lawyers vary just as much. My lowest paid lawyer makes $150 and I have others that make $250+ |

also keep in mind that a doctor faces more liability lawsuits. My cousin is a doctor but couldn't practice in illinois due to the high insurance premium so she's practicing in a different state. |

A biglaw partner can make as much as an investment banker ($1mil+), but a DA will probably make around $100k at most. Med school is also a bigger investment. |

Been a long time and I don't remember where, but I do remember reading about a study...
1. Doctors
2. Lawyers
3. Dentists
and I can't remember beyond that. Those are generalities among professions. Individual practice and specialty will also have a major effect. |
