japs | Fund-raising Ideas...? |
Can you give me a suggestion for a fund-raiser for a group of around 10 people, trying to reach $500-$1000? This is for a Class Council budget addition. ***Please suggest things OTHER THAN CAR WASHES we're really tired of always doing them***
Thank you for helping Sophomores 2010! |

I am a retired fundraiser for a local branch of the #1 charity in the World - The Salvation Army...so...how's this....
Contact local celebrities, politicians, community leaders and have them do a "doodle" of any size, frame and matte them in a nice frame, and auction them off at a special dinner or luncheon. You will raise thousands of dollars from the doodles and from the ticket sales.
Or....contact your local automobile association and ask dealers to donate used cars for an auction. I did this and didn't get any cars but got a $5,000.00 donation from the dealers association.
Or...if you have a local WalMart, they give grants of $500.00 to $1,000.00 to local worthy causes. Contact them. If no WalMart, maybe another big chain store will do the same.
Or...Challenge another group sophomores to a tug of war over a mud pond. Set up a betting booth and take bets on each team at $5.00 per bet. The house, that's you, takes half off-the-top. The winning bettors split what's left of the betting pot after your cut for organizing the event. Even if you lose the tug-of-war, you make money. And, if you are feeling generous, give the other team a cut.
That help?

Put on a Theatre Play, or Play reading. Ask the school to donate a percentage of the door, (Play), or ask for donations(Reading).Ask local business for cash or items to raffle after the play/reading in exchange for putting their names in programs. Sell the raffle tickets. I guarantee you you will make more than you are asking for. Better than the "Car Wash", lots of more fun. |

You can hire your group out to do yard work. You would probably have to line-up a few employers and do a few jobs, but that amount should be attainable.
One thing is collecting donations for a yard sale or charging people to set up tables at a yard sale. |

when we wanted to make easy money we sold candy. everybody was issued 20 candy bars and we walked around between class with them in clear freezer bags so people could see it. we would sell them for 50 cents or a dollar. if you buy the candy in bulk at a warehouse store you can make descent money. movie theaters and fast food chains also have fundraisers you can use. good luck |

"Candy Grams" .. Pick a day out of the year like a holiday or end of school year- and have people purchase cards (easily made via a printer/copier) and attach a bag of candy. You can sit at lunch and sell them to students for a week or walk around having each person set a goal for X amount to sell.
People will write their own messages in the prepaid card and the class council can deliver them to their homeroom or last hour class.
The beauty of this is kids like to compete who can give the most and get the most so they will purchase more.
Target:
**Couples walking together- "Hey, would you like to purchase a candy gram for your girlfriend?"
**Teachers in charge of student organizations- "Hey would you like to show your appreciation for your students?"
**Popular Students, etc..
With some organization this program really takes off. |

How about some sort of game tournament..??? You could have people donate $5 a person to play a game (board game or sport) and the winner gets a prize. Or you could do a fund-raising babysitting day. Or a hat day where everyone can wear a hat to school if they donate a dollar to your fundraiser. Or there's always a good old craft fair. Have everyone participating make crafts and sell them. This could be very fun!!! |

Flocking. You'll need some homeowners to agree to be de-flocked for a fee and that's how you raise the money. What you do is get a bunch of those pink flamingoes for the yard and put them all over a person's front yard. Then they have to pay you to take them out and put them in someone else's yard and so on and so on. It's a really fun and different way to raise money. But you have to make sure you get permission or they won't pay you. |
