I received a call on my new telephone saying that because I was a MasterCard holder I was entered in a drawing to win X amount of money or a free vacation and blah blah. They also told me I won a 6-month subscription to 4 magazines of my choosing and I only had to pay s&h for one of the magazines, which comes up to 42.95 every 3 months. They also say I would receive a free watch with a diamond encrusted on the 12. What do you think of this offer? This is the second time they contacted me, do you think it could be legit or a scam? |

Well for 42.95 breaks down to 14 bucks a month, you could buy 2-3 magazines that you would like to read from a store in that same time period compared to whatever small selection of magazines that they're trying to push on you.
So while they may be legitimately selling you magazines, you're probably better off buying the ones you want elsewhere.
And since you "won" the right to pay the s&h, the actual cost of the magazines is probably higher then that.
They may be providing you with a service, but its pretty clear that they'll probably make a lot of money doing it. |

It's pretty much a scam, the magazines are outrageously overpriced and the watch is basically worthless.
The sad thing is, these are legal scams, so your best bet is just to ignore them. |

sounds like a scam... but ask them what u need to do...
if they are calling from mastercard you should not need to provide any credit card information...
But its probably a scam... |

If they call you again I would tell them you are not interested and to take your phone number and address off of their list so that they don't call you again. I've heard over and over that you should not give out ANY personal information to someone you don't know when they call you. It would be different if you had called them. There's always a catch to those "GREAT deals" too, which makes it a total joke. |

dude its a scam, if youve ever been, "randomly chosen" and win something, dont take the offer, cause 100 other people just like won the same prize. if we really won things like that, im sure just by you being on the interent for 15 minutes youd have 10 ipods 3 boats 7 cars and a million dollars, its all a scam, dont buy into any of it |

Scam. They will probably ask for a cc# or tell you that you have to pay shipping or something like that. Tell them to put you on their do not call list. |
