Hi,
I went into Halifax branch yesterday and withdrew £200 from my account, the girl on the desk was a trainee and didnt know how to do it, so a supervisor came and showed her, and i eventually got my money.
Thing is, when i got home, my internet banking showed no money had come out, so i left it until today, and still, the money is there.
Should i say anything? |

Show the bank the error, you will feel better for doing so, this happened to me many years ago, the lady involved was in deep trouble, but my returning to put things right, made things right for her, and my conscience. |

It's up to you, but if you don't, if and when the mistake is noticed you will be liable to pay it back, even though it was their mistake not yours. Far easier to be up front now and tell them, then to risk them asking for it back at a time when you may be strapped for cash. |

yes - she's a trainee, she's had to underbank when cashing up and she'll be crapping herself now. own up!
EDIT_ It's important to realise that you are not "conning" the bank, you are revelling in a trainee's mistake, have you never been new at a job? |

can't go into detail but they have a fail proof system to ensure that any mistakes made at the counter are highlighted, trust me they will discover their mistake so have the funds in reserve. If your transaction was late in the day(after 3.30) it will not be included in their accounting till perhaps the next day anyway. Trust me they will discover it. |

This money belongs to the bank, so as long as you have got £200 in your account, I wouldn't say anything but I would keep £200 in the account because you don't known if they will ask for it back. |

Don't say anything.
If they do anything later on. Make a complaint.
I tried to open an acoount. They ****** it up and paid me compensation twice so I was £250 better off with no bank account. The ten pounds I original put in which was lost by Halifax is in the discrepancy account in Liverpool. So the balance is now £190. Sorry about the rant. |
