Stupidest decision i have ever made!!!!! It only does any good if you have LOTS of money to spend on house furnishing and you do it in bulk! |

I have heard it is a rip off as well. You never get back the money you put in. |

I heard it's a bit of a rip-off |

He probably made the wrong decision. Why belong to a "club" that entices you to spend your hard earned cash? Look before you leap and buy is the best advice I can offer. |

You've got to buy a ton of stuff to get back the $4000 fee and that's only on things for home improvement. |

They are horrible con-artist. What they do not tell you is they do zero installation. Therefore good luck trying to find a contractor to install anything you just bought. Most people get gouged by the contractors more than the product. Also, everything is negotiable when you are purchasing for your home. Home Depot and Lowe's run coupons, merchandisers frequently clearance items, you can shop the Internet like eBay and craigslist. I know you would be better off being a smart consumer then paying someone hundreds or thousands of dollars to give you a "deal". I used to own furniture stores in Florida and I can tell you they are not selling it to you at cost, they are marking the items up. |

Sorry, I heard about it; I would wonder at the cost of membership vs. the cost of the items. |

I'm assuming that he researched the items Direct Buy is selling and their current prices and I'm also assuming he has a large project in mind.
If he did all that then I'm sure he knows if it was worth his while. If he didn't do that, why purchase the membership? It seems like kind of a strange "spur of the moment" purchase on its own. |

♥ hello ♥

My sister and her husband went to the showroom. They decided not to buy the membership because it was like 5,000 bucks, right? And you had to decide then and there. Also, they had already bought a bedroom set from Macys and they saw their set in the catalog for about 200 bucks less than they had paid. So after paying the membership fee, they really would not be saving that much money. I think Direct Buy is better if you plan to spend BIG BIG money. Think of how long it will take to break even with the membership fee vs. savings. Plus they said they looked online and read a whole lot of bad reviews. |

OMG!!! I'm sorry. I use to work for a similar place. The state attorney general shut them down. Most people find they do nothing for them. When I was doing it, the best way to save was on kitchen cabinets. I don't know what they have at
Direct Buy, but we had Diamond. I would have people go to home depot, get the list of cabinets they needed and order them. But most items did not save enough and many people were very unhappy, and I don't blame them. ( I hated working there, could not find another job and had a kid to support on my own.)
Look at your agreement ther may be a VERY short cancellation time. If at all possible try. The one I worked for would not let people out, and was such a scam. They charged $2000 and so many people were upset becasue they didnot save like they were promised. Only a couple items were good. you might do ok on furniture, get shipping charges before ordering anything, they will rape you on them. Pick items up when possible. Ashley had the bestshipping rates, and they were a promised amount. Also, some vendors have a minimum, and they would hold peoples money and not order til it was met, so it could take months. Good luck, you're going to need it. |

It is heavily advertised on television. Seems like a big scam, unless you buy a ton of stuff from their limited selection. |

He made a good choice and it will pay off in the long run as long as you can afford it. He also can prpbably make him some money off of it wsiath his friends that's planning on big purchases and get sthe money up front. and get dsit for less than the store purchase. |
