It seems as though the cost of everything else is rising due to the high gas prices. Each week when I grocery shop, it seems the cost of items get higher and higher.

Right. I wish my stupid little car was even littler and stupider. I get about 25 mph...I wish I got more like 40 mpg. After the last Gulf War, the gas prices went down. No such luck this time.
I never thought the 90's would look like the good old days, but now they do. |

Yes as a server I noticed that my wages have gone down. Ppl spend more $$ to get to a destination therefor my tip is decreased. The disposable income has gone into their gas tank. |

Yes, my family just spent $73 yesterday at the grocery store and it wasn't even that much. And it's supposed to get us through the week. And today, at the gas station down the street, gas was $2.72 this morning. I went there about 20 minutes ago, and it had spiked to $2.77 a gallon. I don't know how I am gonna make it through the week. |

i commute 60 miles daily so it has affected me a bit..
i don't go on my weekly trips to tahoe and reno anymore.. i tend to be more of a homebody too.. just because i'm trying to cut back on expenses |

No, not at all. I graduated college May 2005 at the age of 35. I am starting over for at least the third time in my life. I am living well enough within my means to not have to worry about rising gas prices for a while. My car averages 36 mpg highway at 85 mph. I get two weeks out of a tank of gas when I drive around town only. I am glad that when I was married that I bought this car. I do know of people that are in a lot worse shape than I am. |

Absolutely! I am a horse trainer by profession, so my vehicle is a Ford F-350 that gets a whopping 13.3mpg....getting harder to travel to shows to make money.....I think it is time that everyone starts pressuring our lawmakers to either pop the top on Alaska, or put more funding into researching alternative fuels....BTW we grow enough corn and soybeans to make all of the Bio Diesel fuel needed to end our foreign dependence on Arabian oil....wouldn't that be something.... |

yes, I had to give up my part time job. By the time I paid for gas to get there it was costing too much of my income to be viable. I loved this job. And now have to work closer to home. |

No I have not noticed. I only drive about 15-20 miles a day.
What I cant understand is people bitching for a nickel swing upwards on gasoline that costs them an extra dollar per tank, but they have no problem paying 5 bucks a day interest on their car loans to the bank..
Gas is still cheaper than beer! |
