yes , it is a legally binding contract .
i assume your father is no longer alive, it will make your case much more clear cut if the witness is still alive as the document will have to be authenticated . see a solicitor as soon as you can .was there not any will ?
its a shame how money tears family's apart.
it does not matter how long ago this document was written, even if your grandad wrote it 60 years ago it is still legally binding (one thought ......if his will leaves this share to anyone else then it will invalidate the original document, if no mention of this share is made then the original stands)
fight for whats rightfully yours and your fathers wishes

Sounds like they knew about it and didn't say anything. See a solicitor as soon as possible. And fight them all the way. |

Providing your father made no other wills after the thing you have signed, then yours in valid. If however, he made any other legal wills after the thing you have, then yours is invalid.
A solicitor is best, but if your father had a more recent will made, then you won't have much luck unfortunately. But if he didn't, you just might have a case! Good luck! |
