Not all... but I am converting some to food and silver in preparation for upcoming hard times. Soon, your toilet paper will be worth more than a $100 bill. |

Nope, i don't have any money. In fact i owe the bank money, they take it from me all by themselves! |

Well I have a much better idea. Since there is going to be huge inflation in the money supply, and gold is the inverse of the dollar, I suggest you take out all the money out the bank and buy gold with it. You can thank me later. |

About 17 years ago, I took about £12000 of their money out of my bank,( not robbery, unauthourised overdraft ) and disappeared . Never went back, in case they remembered. So, no. And kinda yes, too.
And yes,I know what a mattress is, (you take that back, BadBeast, or I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN, and Beast you. Badly.) |

My work uses direct deposit, and I have little choice via inconvenience of the bank handling my money first. If I were to insist that they pay me by check, it will be sent by mail. If that gets lost it would then be two weeks before they would cut another one so I would get paid.
However, I don't trust that banks will stay open long with our tumbling economy. All the bailouts in the world won't fix the Baltic Dry Index(real indicator of how our economy is doing)

I never have used a savings account, and only keep enough in my checking account to cover the bills. |

Buy gold. You won't be able to sleep well at night, either way, so why not?

I asked the teller for my money and all she said was,,,
"Zalla -ka -doola- mitchy- ka-boola
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!"
which meant.."Take your lame @ss over to the ATM and tell it to the robot!"....so I did.....and the ATM said
"Hip-ka-ninika-ninika
octa-socra-poli-octa-yoo-hoo!" |

No . the system we work in demands a bank account even if we do not wish to have one. blaming the government will not work nor will trying to attack the banks. they rely on each other to much. the first for SUPPORT form government when it need sit , the second for 'jobs' when they leave the government . so its a self serving operation over which Little control is actually applied. |

OK, what i'm thinking is to put all my money, such as it is, in Britannias or maybe sovereigns. Have you come across the building society idea of negative interest on savings‽
Woo, BAD interrobang in this font! |

Awesome. :)

We can protest all we want, but they really aren't gonna care or notice. They have MILLIONS, billions even, not like £100. |

Not yet, but I am well on the way. I had to buy my daughter a car. She is going to school and has no way to get around. Fortunately she agreed to a used car, which turned out pretty we, Also my interest on my mortgage went up,thanks to Bush . Maybe 2009, will be better. Perhaps, I'll hit the lottery and fix all my financial problems. |

Naw. My crystal ball broke back in 1987 when Volcker and Greenspan managed to stop the world economy from collapsing then. Never know, we might get away with it again. If things go all the way bad, I don't think anything will be a safe investment. Stand up, face it like a man. |
