I am a 45 year old disabled LPN. My husband has wracked up a credit card amount of $3000. I have always paid my bills on time since I got away from him but he somehow got one of the older cards that still had his name on it and used it. I just want to get this paid and cancel this card. It's the only one left that still had his name on it. I've tried borrowing the money but since i'm disabled, I can't get a loan, even though, I have a monthly income to pay a loan back. It doesn't work that way in the banking world. Any ideas??? I saw on one of these familiar questions answered, that said, "you could model nude, do light porn, and make some money". Well, First, I don't believe in what pornogrophy stands for and secondly, I really don't think I'm the kind of girl they'd be looking for. LOL. I could sell my car (it's paid for) but it's the only transportation I have. This credit card was a build your credit back type of card. You need to check with a legal advisor to see if you are responsible for those bills, and if so, what percentage.
CANCEL THE CARD NOW! Call up the credit card company NOW and tell them to cancel the card to future purchases!!!!
Those are the first two things I would do. Good luck. |

you should try a debt consolidation..i tried and they were very helpful..just go to the trans union website and you can find a good one their..i can't think of the name off hand..u can also find good advice on the 3 credit bureau's websites...good luck..what's up with them 10 pts?? |

Let's ask this question first -- are you LEGALLY separated (meaning the paperwork went in front of a judge and this is documented and signed and registered/certified) or are you just separated?
IF legally separated -- then that order will tell you how this debt will be treated - and if he racked up the debt during the legal separation -- it could be his responsibility and NOT yours -- so check that legal document first.
IF you are NOT legally separated -- you may be out of luck and if your husband runs out on the debt and does not pay -- then the creditors CAN look to you and pursue you for the satisfaction of the debt (UNFORTUNATELY). |

check with your attorney, if you've got a legal separation you may not legally be responsible for that bill - in any case, notify all of your creditors and make sure that you don't have any other joint accounts. |
