I would try looking for the item (used) on ebay, then give him the listed price, plus half of shipping costs. If its not listed, id say $50-$75.
Its probably a big hassle to sell and since its worth $100 tops he can't spend a lot of time looking for other buyers. Every hour he spends trying to sell to someone else reduces the amount he makes (counting opportunity costs). |

If you buy a car and only drive it off the lot and park it 10 miles away and don't drive it for a few years, it still has depreciated and is not worth as much. the same goes for other items. Pay what he would get and what you stated, $50-$100. Anyways, if he can't tell you what he wants he is hoping to play on your conscious with the provided "like new" details. Don't be a sucker! |

If he really was a good friend he should give it to you for free!!
Maybe you could do a deal with him in that you get the lawn mower for free in return for mowing his lawn (if he's still got one)!!

Depends on how much of a friend he is. If he's really close friend, then be like, yo, ill give you 50 bucks and take you out to eat sometime for the mower. If he's a friend, but not close, like he lives near you and you see each other walking outside or whatever, offer 100 dollars. Hope this helped. |
